Heart on Diaphragm Base

This model, crafted from specialized plastic, is life-sized. It can be disassembled into 8 parts, including a cross-section of the pericardium with the diaphragm, the thymus gland, the cardiac apex, and the lower sections of the ventricles. All four cardiac valves the right and left atrioventricular valves and the pulmonary and aortic semilunar valves are presented in an open position to provide a comprehensive view of the heart’s internal structures. The pericardium features incisions to expose the semilunar valves and the origins of the coronary arteries. It is mounted on a base.
